My name is Celenia Jorge. I Am 20 years old and I have a two year old son Kevin whom I raise by myself. We live at my parent’s house in the village Villa Israel in Bolivia. After I graduated from secondary school I got pregnant. I always was one of the best students of my year. My parents want me to continue studying and therefore my mother will look after Kevin. I would like to study biochemistry at the University of San Simon. I already passed the entrance exam.
I have an older sister Silvia (23). She is studying to become a nurse. She is in her third year. I also have a younger sister Noemie (13). She goes to secondary school. My two younger brothers, Aid (10) and Abner (8), attend primary school. My father is 40 Years old and works as a builder. My mother is 39 years old and is a housewife.
The distance between our village and university is about 20 kilometres. I don’t have to pay lecture fee but I have to pay money to travel. My parents cannot afford it. We are very pleased that the Tristan Foundation is willing to pay these costs so I can study and find a job to earn money for my son.
Sincerely,
Celenia |
